Methods of Documentation & Measured Drawings (ARC60305)
This subject aims to develop an understanding of the rpinciples of building perservation/conservation and methods of recording it in 3 documentation methods which are measured drawings, written documentation and photographic documentation. In a group of 24, we were to document historically and architecturally significant buildings in the form of as-built drawings. The building given for my group is Dewan Bandaran Ipoh, Perak.

Project 1: Sketchbook & Journal
This project is an on-site exercise where we have to sketch and document the physical and intangible qualities of the Dewan Bandaran Ipoh as well as the immediate context of the site. The sketches are to comprise at least 2 of these categories:
(a) The Genius Loci
(b) Poetic Quality
(c) Cultural Attributes
(d) Technical/ Construction details
Project 2: Building Report & Video
This report is an additional document that accompanies the set of drawings for our building, Dewan Bandaran Ipoh, Perak. We elaborated on the significance of Dewan Bandaran Ipoh from various aspects such as architectural, historical and cultural.
Project 3:
This project carried out throughout the semester where we were required to measure and document Dewan Bandaran Ipoh, Perak and translate all the data into a set of drawings. The model provides additional physical information of Dewan Bandaran Ipoh, Perak.
